Job Description
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person with building independence, confidence, and life skills. The role includes regular support with:
Attending an LGBT group (Monday evenings)
Visiting Youth Zone (Sundays)
Participating in social activities such as swimming and mini golf (e.g. midweek)
The individual experiences daily non-epileptic seizures, so awareness of safety and calm, supportive responses is important.

Roles and Responsibilities
Supporting safety in the home and community
Encouraging independence and decision-making
Assisting with meal preparation
Supporting access to social and leisure activities
Helping develop money management skills
Promoting independent living skills (e.g. ordering food, travelling safely)
Supporting communication and social interaction
Providing reassurance and support during seizures
Specific Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
Male, Caring, patient, dependable and ally to LGBT+ groups
Able to promote independence while maintaining safety
A good communicator with a positive, friendly attitude
Understanding of mental health and sensory needs
Full UK driving licence/own car (mobility vehicle available if required)
Confident swimmer able to cover at least 25 metres and stay within arm’s reach due to clients seizures.
Desirable but not essential:
Experience supporting autistic individuals and/or Tourette’s syndrome
Experience supporting individuals with seizures
Required Training
-Experience of supporting an autistic individual who has Tourette’s syndrome preferred but not essential.
-Experience with Mental Health
