Summary

Destination Chesterfield delivers marketing campaigns to help improve the economic prosperity of Chesterfield by promoting it as a contemporary destination to inward investors and supporting existing businesses. Established since 2010, this project is funded through support from local businesses (known as Chesterfield Champions), Chesterfield Borough Council, East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire) operates as the managing employer for Destination Chesterfield.

Based at: Chesterfield with agile working. Additional travel will be required
Contract: Permanent, full-time (35 hours per week)

1. WHY THE POST EXISTS

Help power Chesterfield’s place story through partnerships.

We are seeking a relationship-driven, confident partnerships executive to drive the commercial strength, reach and impact of the Destination Chesterfield Partnership.

Acting as a key contact for Chesterfield Champions and prospective partners, you’ll build trusted, long‑term relationships, champion the value of partnership and identify opportunities to deepen engagement and secure sustainable income through sponsorships, events and collaborations.

You’ll support delivery of Destination Chesterfield events, ensuring partners, attendees, speakers and sponsors have a quality experience that reinforces the value of involvement. Working closely with colleagues and strategic partners including Chesterfield Borough Council and East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA), you’ll also aid investment‑focused engagement and help connect businesses with opportunities.

In this outward‑facing, people‑centred role, enjoying building rapport, spotting opportunities and representing Chesterfield with confidence and professionalism is a must.

2. THE KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

– Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Chesterfield Champions and prospective partners.
– Support voluntary contributions and retention by ensuring partners clearly understand and experience the value of their involvement.
– Primary contact for businesses engaging with Destination Chesterfield.
– Identify and secure new commercial income opportunities, including sponsorships, advertisement, engagement and event partnerships.
– Oversee the commercial elements of Destination Chesterfield events, including partner engagement and speaker liaison.
– Coordinate event speakers and contributors, including pre and post event communication and ensuring a positive experience.
– Support inward investment and strategic partner engagement by coordinating meetings, briefings and connections.
– Attend and represent Destination Chesterfield at events, meetings and networking activities.
– Maintain accurate CRM records and oversee commercial administration processes including invoicing, working with colleagues and AI.
– Share insight internally, improve processes and support overall support partnership, marketing and event activity.

3. APPLICANTS WILL POSSESS

– Confidence, be personable and organised.
– Experience of business development, account management, partnerships or relationships in a commercially focused role.
– Able to building rapport, build and maintain relationships with businesses and senior stakeholders.
– An understanding of value-led engagement models.
– Proven income generation or retention in a partnership, sponsorship or value led environment.
– Able to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
– Comfortable representing the organisation at events including good communication with a wide range of people.
– Experience of supporting or managing the commercial aspects of events, sponsorship or business engagement activity.
– Managing multiple priorities with a positive, proactive approach.
– High-quality administrative skills within experience of successfully using CRM systems or similar.
– Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel and work flexibly.
