About the Role

As a Project Officer, you will play a key role in improving how services operate across Development Management.

You will lead and support service improvement and change projects focused on improving customer experience, delivery timescales, consistency and quality. Working closely with managers, colleagues and partner teams, you will help turn improvement ideas into practical, sustainable changes that make a real difference to how services run.

The role sits at the intersection of business improvement, data, digital working and customer service. You do not need a background in planning to succeed — the role is ideal for someone with experience of working in a customer‑focused or operational environment who enjoys analysing problems, coordinating activity and helping services improve.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree‑level qualification or equivalent relevant experience in areas such as business, service delivery, project management, operations, digital, performance, or a related field.
  • Experience of working in a customer‑focused or service‑led organisation, where improving processes, delivery outcomes or customer experience is a key part of the role.
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting or delivering projects, service improvements or change initiatives, including planning activity, tracking progress and working with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work with data, prepare clear reports or briefings, and explain information to a range of audiences.

At Nottingham City Council we believe that work is what you do, not where you do it. We offer different working arrangements, depending on the role, including hybrid working. Further information on Worker Types and what these mean in terms of how and where you work can be found on the additional information for applicants page.
