TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision based in Stockport, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a nurturing and structured environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop social skills, and achieve positive educational outcomes. Staff work closely together to ensure every young person feels supported, safe, and valued.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the right SEMH Teaching Assistant. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, both inside and outside of the classroom, helping to manage behaviours, encourage engagement, and support students with their academic and emotional development.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Team Teach training desirable
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive and adaptable attitude
