Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Required for September 2026, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and flexible SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at our vibrant village school, supporting the needs of individuals in our Reception class.

The successful candidate must have:

• GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in both English and Maths
• Experience of working with children with additional needs in the EYFS or primary age range.
• The ability to work as part of a team
• A professional approach and high personal standards

A practical understanding of difficulties associated with Communication and Interaction Needs (including Autism) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (including ADHD) would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will work with individuals who have significant additional needs, supporting them individually, in small groups and in the classroom, during whole class sessions and within the continuous provision.

Our teaching assistants are fully involved in the life of the school and this will also be an expectation of new staff. The role will also include break duty cover, outdoor learning and lunchtime supervision.
