Summary


UH Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust seeks to appoint one Clinical Paediatric Education Fellow in Paediatric Medicine and four in paediatric surgery / trauma and orhtopaedics. These are all 12 month posts. The posts are suitable for doctors who have an interest in any area of paediatrics or paediatric surgery.

The successful candidates will spend approximately 50% of their time working to deliver undergraduate teaching and develop projects in paediatric education in the trust and approximately 50% of their time performing clinical duties in either paediatric medicine or paediatric surgery / Trauma and Orhopaedics).

These posts have been created to give successful candidates the opportunity to spend time in paediatrics / paediatric surgery whilst developing their own skills in training and medical education. These posts are ideal for post F2 trainees who are looking for a new opportunity for a year. The successful candidates will be expected to enrol on the University of Bristol, Teaching and Learning for Health Professionals course for the Certificate in Medical Education. This is a modular course and the accelerated course can be completed within 12 months. The certificate course will be funded for the 12 month duration of the post by the PGME (approx. £3600).



The Clinical Education Fellow will also act as supervisor to the Undergraduate Physician Associates and Clinical Practitioners. They will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of the required clinical competencies for their named trainee/s during the placement. They will be required to participate in medical students’ education.
