Summary
We are looking for somebody to support Breakfast Club Monday to Friday between 7.30 am and 8.45 am. The successful applicant will hold the children’s best interests at the heart of everything they do within the club and work passionately to ensure that the children have a successful start to their school day.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising children; setting up play, craft and fun or calming activities
- Taking a responsibility for safeguarding (as per school Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy)
- Supporting and modelling positive attitudes towards peers and play
- Maintaining positive relationships with families e.g. at drop off
- It may also involve supporting the preparation of breakfast, such as toast, fruit, cereal or yoghurt.
This person will be able to make a further difference to the experience of children in our school within a different context and would work within an experienced team. It would be an advantage to bring existing skills e.g. listening to readers; experience of craft, social or active games with children, which would support the continued development of the club.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment, and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
Some roles may need to comply with the ‘Childcare Act 2006’ and the ‘Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009’ where additional disclosure of information will be required.
