Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role within a supportive secondary school in Wandsworth. This position involves working closely with students who have complex learning needs, providing both academic guidance and essential physical support to ensure they can access the curriculum safely and with dignity. This is a long-term contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
- Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary classroom setting, adapting learning materials to suit their individual abilities.
- Provide essential personal care, including assisting with toileting, hygiene, and feeding, ensuring all tasks are carried out with respect and according to school policy.
- Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and monitor student progress to provide feedback to the SENCO.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment by managing challenging behaviours and promoting emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to support the holistic development of the students.


Essential Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working with children or young adults with SEN, preferably within a secondary school or care setting.
- A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature, with a genuine commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
- Willingness and ability to perform personal care duties (toileting and feeding) as a core part of the role.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
