We are seeking a highly reliable, experienced, and emotionally intelligent Support Worker to provide consistent one-to-one support to a woman with complex physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. This role requires a professional who can deliver structured, person-centred care within a busy family home environment.
The client has experienced a recent bereavement and requires ongoing support not only with daily living tasks, but also with maintaining motivation, structure, and emotional stability. The role requires someone who is calm, grounded, and able to provide both practical and emotional support without becoming overwhelmed or reactive.
About the Client
====================================================
The client lives with a combination of restricted mobility, neurodivergence, and cognitive challenges affecting memory and organisation. She is able to walk short distances but relies on a wheelchair for longer distances.
She requires structured support with daily routines and benefits from consistency, predictability, and clear communication. She lives in a family home with young children, so the ability to work professionally within a dynamic household is essential.
She responds best to individuals who are warm, positive, emotionally stable, and able to maintain a calm and reassuring presence.
Key Responsibilities

* Provide consistent one-to-one support within the home environment
* Assist with all activities of daily living, including personal care where required
* Support mobility safely, including wheelchair use where appropriate

* Provide emotional support and maintain a calm, stable presence
* Support the client in maintaining daily structure and routine
* Monitor wellbeing and identify any changes in physical, emotional, or cognitive presentation
* Accurately report concerns, incidents, or risks in a timely manner
* Follow all agreed care plans, risk assessments, and instructions
* Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
* Work independently while remaining accountable to the employer
Safeguarding & Professional Standards
====================================================
The postholder must demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and duty of care. Any concerns regarding risk, harm, or changes in circumstances must be reported immediately. The Support Worker must maintain professional boundaries, respect privacy, and adhere to confidentiality at all times.
Person Specification

Proven experience in care/support work
Experience supporting individuals with complex or cognitive needs
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations

* Desirable:
Experience with neurological conditions
Understanding of neurodivergence (e.g. autism, ADHD)
Experience working in family/home environments
Driving licence
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. Psychology, Health & Social Care, Social Work, Nursing)
Working Conditions
====================================================
This role is based in a private home and may involve lone working. The environment can be busy and requires flexibility and professionalism. Physical tasks may include light manual handling, household tasks, and mobility support.
Working hours are flexible and will be agreed based on need. There may be a requirement for occasional evenings or weekends.
Expectations
====================================================
This is a high-responsibility role requiring consistency, reliability, and professionalism. The successful candidate must be able to integrate into an established support structure without disrupting routines or creating instability.
