An opportunity has arisen within Laboratory Medicine in the Immunology laboratory for a Biomedical Support Worker, we are looking for an enthusiastic staff member. The successful candidate will work as part of the immunology laboratory team, delivering laboratory results to in-patients, out-patients within our hospital network and to GP surgeries.

The role will involve input of patient and sample data into the laboratory computer using the laboratory information management system. Loading samples onto automated analytical systems and perform laboratory tests under supervision. A significant part of the job will involve preparing samples to be dispatched to referral laboratories for specialist analysis. To deal with incoming telephone enquiries relating to patient results. You will be required to work flexibly to support the requirements of the service and to maintain a personal training record to demonstrate competence and compliance with statutory and mandatory training.
