Summary
We are looking for a Senior Purchasing Assistant to join our Pharmacy team based at Southend Hospital.
Reporting to the Lead Purchasing Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking all duties associated with the procurement of medications and sundries for the Pharmacy Department.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be well organised, professional, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Assist in the smooth running of the administration requirements of the Pharmacy purchasing team.
• Maintain supplies of non-drug items including controlled stationary e.g. FP10 prescriptions, ensuring accurate records of receipt and issue are maintained
• Assist in the resolution of order discrepancies, identification of late and outstanding orders and return of stock to suppliers
• Purchase medical gases; maintain full stock records as required and process invoices.
• Receive deliveries and book in orders of pharmaceuticals and other stocks using the pharmacy stock control system.
• File hard copy orders and other related documents.
• Taking minutes, typing and circulating as directed.
• Undertake Pharmacy led audits as directed
• Assist with adhoc stock checks, counting and reconciliation.
• Process homecare prescriptions and invoices.
• Follow departmental standard operating procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workplace.
• Participate in weekend and bank holiday rota’s.
