Exciting Opportunity for an MOT Tester in Wallingford!
Our client, a reputable family-run independent service centre based in Wallingford, is seeking an experienced MOT Tester to join their well-established workshop. Since 1983, they have been recognised for delivering high-quality services and excellent customer care. This is an excellent chance for a skilled MOT Tester to progress within a supportive team environment and further develop their career.
Benefits for the successful MOT Tester:
- Competitive salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience
- Monthly workshop performance bonus (approximately £5,000 per annum)
- 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays

- Regular weekday hours from 8:00am to 5:30pm, with two 30-minute breaks
Duties of the MOT Tester:
- Conduct MOT tests on customer vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
- Diagnose vehicle faults and perform associated servicing and repairs
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards during testing and repairs
- Assist with general workshop duties as necessary to support workshop operations
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out
- Keep abreast of the latest MOT legislation and vehicle repair techniques
Requirements needed of the MOT Tester:
- Valid Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing licences
- UK driving licence with minimal points
- Ideally hold IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Alternatively, extensive vehicle mechanic experience with an active MOT licence
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadlines
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality work
