You’ll be joining our procurement team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What you’ll be doing
You'll be supporting the Procurement Manager and the wider MGH procurement management team in all aspects.
You'll liaise with local MGH operations and commercial teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and plant.
Ensuring that all procurement activities are undertaken strictly in accordance with M Group & MGH procurement policies and processes.
You'll provide immediate support for reactive works in emergencies and ad-hoc support to tender process as required.
We'll ask you to develop and maintain project specific procurement schedules, PQQ and subcontract registers.
Source, select and negotiate with material suppliers ensuring the project/contract obtains best value and meets programme. Obtaining quotations for materials to tight deadlines to meet tender return dates.
You'll raise accurate purchase orders via Oracle ensuring relevant technical and commercial clauses are included.
Assist operational and finance teams to ensure invoices can be matched to purchase orders and paid within terms.
Provide support, guidance and training to operational site teams, as required, to ensure all procurement routes and ordering processes are adhered to.
You'll hold performance review meetings with key suppliers as required by the MGH contract/project KPI schedule along with local level supply chain management.
You'll lead the mobilisation of new projects as and when required. Ensuring that MGH governance is followed and discharged fully at all times.
Deliver bulk procurement/framework agreements of high-volume high value materials.
What you’ll bring
- Ideally, membership of professional body (CIPS), or working towards
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload to meet project/contract deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer literate including use of Excel, Word and purchasing systems.
- Extensive experience of negotiating with suppliers.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of procurement in the construction industry.
- Degree level education or qualified by experience preferable.
