Summary

SENDCo Teacher – Part-time (3 or 4 days per week), long-term temporary from May 2026


This part-time SENDCo Teacher role focuses on supporting a Year 3 cohort within a well-organised and inclusive primary setting. The school promotes high expectations for behaviour and personal development, with strong systems in place to support pupils with additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a SENDCo Teacher who is passionate about inclusion and wants to make a meaningful impact through targeted support and collaboration.

Duties as SENDCo Teacher:

  • Lead and support SEND provision for a Year 3 class
  • Identify, assess, and review pupils’ additional needs in line with SEND processes
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual education plans and targeted interventions
  • Work closely with class teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive classroom practice
  • Provide guidance and advice to staff on effective SEND strategies
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals where required
  • Track progress and maintain accurate SEND documentation
  • Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and inclusion remain a priority at all times

Ideal SENDCo Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status with SENDCo experience or a recognised SENDCo qualification
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in a primary setting
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to balance teaching responsibilities with SEND coordination
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
