This appointment is for a Consultant Medical Oncologist with an interest in Acute Oncology and Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP)/Metastases of Unknown Origin (MUO) based at University Hospital Southampton.

You will join the Medical Oncology consultant team, specifically:

• Undertake the Acute Oncology Lead role
• Provide Senior oversight and support to the Acute Oncology Team
• Participate in Acute Oncology Service development across Cancer Care
• To provide specialist Medical Oncology input with expertise in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy for CUP patients.
• To treat patients with CUP at UHS.
• To provide oncology input to the UHS CUP MDT.

The post is available as a 10.25 PA post. Part time or job share applicants will be considered.

The principal duties of this posts will be to:

• Lead and Develop the Acute Oncology Service
• Provide Consultant level support to the Acute Oncology and MUO/CUP services, including SDEC.
• Provide Consultant input to Acute Oncology service at UHS.
• Attend Acute Oncology MDTs and Board Rounds
• Participate in the management of Acute Oncology and MUO/CUP patients
• Be a member of the CUP/MUO MDT meeting
• Attend the CUP/MUO MDT meeting
• Triage patient referrals
• Arrange or advise on appropriate diagnostic tests in the MUO/CUP setting
• Plan and supervise chemo/immunotherapy
• Conduct on treatment review clinics
• Engage in peer review meetings
• Participate in the recruitment and running of clinical trials
