Summary

Job Title: CNC Turner – Fanuc Controls (Small Components)

Location: Accrington

Department: Machine Shop

Salary: £16.50 – £19.00 per hour depending on experience + shift allowance (TBC)

Working Hours: 38 hours per week

Overtime: x1.5

Working Pattern:
⦁ Monday to Thursday 6:55am – 4:55pm
⦁ 38 hours per week
⦁ Shift allowance (if applicable) to be confirmed

About the Role:
⦁ Manufacture small precision components to customer specifications
⦁ Work from detailed engineering drawings and offline programming documents
⦁ Play a key role in maintaining production quality, accuracy, and efficiency
⦁ Work within a fast-paced precision machining environment

Machines to be Set & Operated:
⦁ CNC Turning Centres with Fanuc controls
⦁ Multi-axis CNC lathes (live tooling preferred)


Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
⦁ Manufacture small batch and medium batch precision components
⦁ Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
⦁ Set tooling, touch off tools, and set work offsets
⦁ Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances
⦁ Change tools/inserts and monitor tool wear
⦁ Download, prove out, and save CNC programs
⦁ Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
⦁ Inspect components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
⦁ Report any quality or production issues to supervisor or inspector
⦁ Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
⦁ Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
⦁ Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity

Requirements:
⦁ Minimum 3–5 years’ experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
⦁ Strong experience with Fanuc controls
⦁ Experience machining small precision components
⦁ Ability to work to tight tolerances
⦁ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
⦁ Experience working to production targets and deadlines
⦁ High attention to detail
⦁ Self-motivated and reliable

Desirable:
⦁ Experience with live tooling and multi-axis lathes
⦁ Experience in a precision engineering or subcontract environment
⦁ Forklift truck training preferred
