Summary

The Opportunity

- This role has arisen due to ongoing programme expansion and increased investment in essential water and wastewater infrastructure. It offers the chance to join a well-established project team delivering critical civil engineering works in Kilburn, Derbyshire.
- You will play a key part in the successful delivery of pipelines, reinforced concrete structures, chambers, earthworks, and associated MEICA interfaces. This opportunity suits a Site Engineer who enjoys autonomy, technical responsibility, and working on projects that genuinely improve local communities.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

- Managing and maintaining survey records, as-built information, and technical documentation.
- Preparing and managing ITPs, check sheets, and quality assurance documentation.
- Ensuring all works comply with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
- Supporting temporary works coordination and ensuring compliance with design requirements.
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain efficient workflow.
- Supporting daily briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings.
- Maintaining site diaries, progress records, and material tracking.
- Promoting a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on site.
- Assisting with RAMS preparation and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or water-sector projects
- Strong setting-out capability using GPS, total station, and auto-level
- Good understanding of QA processes, ITPs, and construction methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and provide engineering support to site teams
- CSCS card

It’s great if you also have the following

- SSSTS or SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor training
- Confined Space or EUSR Water Hygiene
- Experience working within regulated utility frameworks
- Experience with reinforced concrete structures and MEICA interfaces

This position is based on a live water-infrastructure construction site in Kilburn, Derbyshire, working as part of a collaborative project team delivering essential upgrades. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and suited to engineers who enjoy hands-on involvement, problem-solving, and working closely with operational teams and subcontractors.
