Location: The position is remote‑based; however, the successful candidate must be able to travel to Worcester for meetings when necessary.

JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking a proactive Finance Assistant to support the Senior Finance Team in the smooth day‑to‑day running of the finance function. The role will have a particular focus on credit control, helping to ensure invoices are raised and collected on time, key deadlines are met, and strong financial controls are maintained across the business.


PRINCIPAL TASKS AND ACTIVITIES


  • Contact clients via telephone, email, or letter to follow up on overdue invoices in a timely manner and update client notes
  • Escalate debts to advisers and senior management if required and follow up as necessary
  • Preparation of aged debt reports for distribution and tracking of cash collection
  • Posting and allocation of cash received on a daily basis
  • Ensure client addresses, e mails and contacts are kept up to date
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly finance and reporting tasks
  • Checking of draft sales invoices for accuracy and completeness across all business areas to necessary timescales
  • Send sales invoices electronically to clients in a timely manner
  • Assist with general finance reports
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems and processes
  • Provide support to the senior Finance team and other stakeholders


ABOUT YOU


EXPERIENCE


Essential:

  • Minimum of two years work experience within a relevant environment
  • Experience of working with computerised financial systems
  • Working to deadlines

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Business Central
  • Previous experience in a B2B credit control role
  • Previous accounts preparation experience


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


Essential:

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excel skills to intermediate level such as Vlookup and pivot tables
  • Ability to manage own workload, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive self starter
  • Ability to understand and interpret information from a variety of sources

Desirable:

  • Numerate and data analysis driven
  • Problem solver


QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING


Essential:

  • AAT, or working towards

Desirable:

  • CICM qualified or working towards
  • A level or equivalent


Interviews will be held during the week commencing 11 May. Please note that an assessment will form part of the recruitment process.
