Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
If you love teaching, are passionate about languages and want to be part of a brilliant team where you will receive outstanding professional development, then Tanbridge House School would like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be:
• Enthusiastic, flexible, and resilient
• Determined to “make a difference” in young people’s lives
• Ambitious for students and for themselves
• A reflective practitioner, always striving to be the ‘best they can be’
What the school offers its staff
Tanbridge House School is an inspiring place to work, where students and staff share the same goals and strive to be exceptional every day through our core values of Care Kindness and Achievement. We ‘teach to the top’ to ensure that students are challenged in all lessons. Staff are reflective and committed to continually developing their own practice.
At Tanbridge House School, we pride ourselves in teaching French, Spanish and German. All students in KS3 come to Tanbridge learning French alongside Spanish or German. We run a three-year KS4 under the Edexcel Pearson exam board. It would be beneficial if candidates could offer two languages at KS3 and at least one at KS4. For those who can offer KS4 Spanish, this would be desirable.
In 2025, our results showed that a on average, 90% of all students across French, Spanish and German achieved a grade 4 or above. 27% of those students achieved a grade 9-7 all languages. As you can see, we are a strong department that is looking to maintain this high-quality teaching and passion for our subject. We are also looking for someone who has the potential to develop their teaching and classroom skills over time.
Enrichment is something that MFL works incredibly hard on to ensure students develop their cultural capital and understanding of the language they are learning in the real world. We have successfully run trips to France and Spain with a cross-curricular trip to Germany with the History department. We also have a strong and developing EAL community in the school where we support those students settle into Tanbridge House School and potentially take a GCSE in their home language.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All posts are subject to a DBS enhanced certificate.
