Summary
Duties of the post: PART A: Echocardiography To work with cardiac physiologists to triage and perform daily transthoracic echos To work towards echo qualifications are listed above To undertake echo clinical governance projects to ensure BSE and data governance standards are being maintained To undertake quality improvement work to develop the critical care echo service To participate in the departmental research program To participate and develop the postgraduate echo and POCUS training programs Participate in echo courses for external candidates Present at local and regional echo meetings PART B: Clinical duties This post is open to registrar grade (Senior Clinical Fellow) doctor applicants with airway skills (minimum 12 months substantive anaesthesia required). Rota Arrangements The rota is fully compliant with the new junior doctors contract. The ICU Echo fellows will provide either day time cover to the critical care patients (0830 2130), night time cover to critical care patients (2030 0930) or critical care outreach for 60% of their allocated time. The remaining 40% will be spent undertaking echo activities.
