We are seeking a qualified and commercially focused Commercial Finance Analyst to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. This is a varied and high-exposure role within a well-respected Finance team that sits at the heart of business decision-making.
The Role
This role is critical in supporting business performance across our Membership and Ancillary products, through high-quality financial planning, analysis, and insight. You will report to the Head of Planning and Analysis and work closely with the Senior Finance Analyst and Junior Finance Analyst, to support them with the day-to-day activities within the finance function.
You will act as a key business partner, working closely with stakeholders to drive performance, support strategic decisions, and deliver meaningful financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide robust financial analysis and insight to support commercial decision-making
-Partner with key stakeholders across the business to understand performance and influence outcomes. Support stakeholders with analysis on new investment decisions and provide supporting business cases to evaluate decisions.
-Analyse revenue and margins across our Membership, Personal Training and Junior Programming departments, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers across these areas including revenue, membership, yield and payroll.
-Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate month end reporting and consistency between management reporting and statutory results.
-Develop and maintain financial models to support business initiatives and investment decisions
-Prepare monthly reporting packs, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year with clear commentary and actionable insight to support results.
-Support pricing, promotions, and wider commercial strategies
-Drive continuous improvement in reporting, processes, and data quality
Experience
-Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
-Minimum 3 years' experience within FP&A or commercial finance
-Strong financial planning and analysis experience, including budgeting and forecasting
-Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability
-Proven ability to work with and interpret large datasets
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders
-Strong commercial acumen and a proactive, business-partnering mindset
-Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
-Confident, credible, and able to challenge constructively
-Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
-Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
-Interest in the fitness, wellbeing or leisure sector is highly desirable
