Summary

Skylark focuses on engagement and collaboration with the Home Office, Immigration Enforcement, UK policing, ACRO, international criminality partners and police national database users. The aim is to build stronger working relationships, improve understanding of shared priorities and create a unified approach to prioritising high harm foreign national offenders.

A core objective is to develop effective data sharing arrangements between policing and Immigration Enforcement, improving public and border protection. By sharing and analysing data, the team identifies, prioritises and manages foreign nationals who pose a persistent criminal threat to communities.

The Skylark Data Officer will support the data sharing/cleansing process with Policing, maintain data dashboards and produce both Police Force & Skylark performance packs.

The Skylark Data Officer will work collaboratively with IE’s National Command & Control Unit (NCCU) & Policing to identify, investigate, and resolve any data quality issues or inconsistencies arising from their input, ensuring that the information used for large-scale analytical purposes remains robust, reliable, and fit for purpose.

The work often requires flexibility and responsiveness to tight deadlines or short-notice requests, ensuring that all outputs meet the expected standards of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.

The Skylark Data Officer’s work will directly contribute to Immigration Enforcement’s wider mission to protect the public and reduce the threat posed by dangerous foreign nationals.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not restricted to:

• Work independently while proactively cleansing & presenting data, maintaining focus and sustaining momentum towards ambitious operational objectives.
• Engage effectively with internal and external partners to manage risk and assess data quality
• Apply creative thinking and innovative approaches to problem solving, working collaboratively with partners to identify data process gaps and strengthen operational responses
• Support data quality with professionalism and sound judgement, ensuring risks are identified and flagged early
• Present data in a user-friendly and effective format

Working Pattern

This role is available on a full-time basis. This role is also suitable for part-time working hours, with a minimum requirement to work 4 days per week due to business requirements.
