Summary
We are currently recruiting Casework Officers to join a team based in Sunderland.
Duties of the Role:
Make decisions on claims for Discretionary Housing Payments and Local Welfare Provision in line with defined policies, Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) guidelines, and business processes.
Manage a caseload of new and repeat customers, ensuring timely reviews, recalls, and appropriate support is provided.
Maintain accurate data records to support effective management and reporting.
Ensure all case files are detailed, accurate, and include the required documentation.
Deliver excellent customer service when responding to enquiries and complaints, providing clear advice and support to achieve positive outcomes.
Provide strong administrative support across the department.
The Candidate:
Proficient IT skills, including accurate typing and attention to detail.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Previous experience in a similar casework, customer service, or benefits administration role.
Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C / 4 or above, including English and Maths.
