Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Governors are now seeking a new Interim Executive Headteacher: an inspirational leader and passionate educator with the vision and moral purpose to lead our school community onto the next stage of our journey.

Priorities for our Executive Headteacher lie in four key areas:

• ensure an inclusive, safe and nurturing environment where all pupils can thrive;
• provide inspirational and strategic leadership to ensure continued school improvement and academic excellence;
• foster a culture of high expectation, equity and aspiration for all;
• work collaboratively with other schools, the Governing body, diocese and other stake holders to maximise the opportunities for pupils and staff.

If, as an existing Head – or indeed a Deputy or Assistant Head looking for their first step into Headship – you believe you offer the leadership talent which inspires and motivates others towards excellence, then we would love to hear from you.

Applications are sought from both practising Christians and those committed to supporting the Christian ethos of the school.

Closing date: Monday 11 May at 12 Noon

Interviews: Wednesday 20 May.

Governors reserve the right to interview before this date.

What the school offers its staff

Newlands CofE Federation is a partnership of two small village schools: Shere CofE Infant School and Nursery, and Clandon CofE Primary School, both set in the beautiful Surrey Hills between Guildford and Dorking, and separated by a few minutes drive over scenic Newlands Corner.

Our curriculum is ambitious and holistic, it is delivered through our natural pedagogies of play, the arts, nature, storytelling, dialogue and games. In this way we support the natural development of children, promote their mental health and maintain their natural curiosity and independence.

You will be ably supported by an experienced and dedicated governing body that includes members with a wide range of professional skills. The senior leadership team is similarly committed, talented, intelligent and fun, with two Heads of School and the School Business Manager.

We warmly encourage you to visit the schools to see the children and staff at work. We all look forward to working with our new headteacher and ensuring you have access to the right professional and personal support to enable you to thrive. Your wellbeing is a key priority for us.
