Summary

Purpose of Post:

This role will join the Student Engagement Team within the Student Success Directorate, with the purpose of supporting the University’s strategic commitment to ensuring that students achieve positive outcomes on their programmes of study. The Student Engagement Team acts as a central point of connection between key institutional objectives and initiatives designed to foster student success.

The postholder will work closely with academic Faculties to coordinate targeted projects that enhance student achievement—such as the early identification of disengaged students and initiatives to increase attainment—enabling proactive interventions that support progress towards positive outcomes. This will involve providing Faculties with relevant data relating to students’ engagement or individual circumstances, helping to inform decisions in specific student cases.

The postholder will develop a strong understanding of the University’s student engagement data sources, support services, academic processes, and the broader student lifecycle, enabling them to deliver timely, targeted support. The role will include creating and managing a caseload of students, overseeing triage of support across the Student Success Directorate where required, and adopting a coaching approach when working with students on their personal development.
