Summary
To receive, store and return patient records for outpatient clinics To be responsible for operating a personal computer as part of the Patient Administration System (PAS) To maintain statistical data on the PAS system relating to patient activity, ensuring this information complies with Data Protection Regulations. To provide administrative support to the Community Podiatry Team, including managing referrals, booking appointments from various waiting lists and manning the podiatry service telephone. To cancel community podiatry clinics for annual leave and sickness absences, rebooking patients as directed by clinicians. To receive all patients and visitors attending the hospital including booking patient into the Urgent Treatment Centre To manage the incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries made to reception The provision of replacement hearing aid batteries to service users and ensuring stocks are maintained To receive and store test samples ready for collection. Receiving telephone calls to make and change outpatient appointments Liaising with other disciplines regarding outpatient clinics To record, on the relevant PAS, the outcome and clinical coding of all Outpatient clinics. Manning the small hospital switchboard To provide cover for periods of absence by other members of the team at the hospital and possibly on other sites if necessary Provide on the job training for newly appointed staff To contribute to PPI by delivering the best standards of integrated health and social care within the resources available within the service. To be aware and comply with all Trust and local department policies General office duties, including photocopying, filing and relaying of messages to appropriate departments To attend all mandatory and statutory training annually To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as delegated from time to time by the Outpatient Operational Services Manager
