Credit Controller

We are seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. You will be responsible for managing allocated customer
accounts, ensuring timely payments, resolving queries, and supporting the business with accurate credit and ledger control.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the customer ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurate and up to date.
* Chase outstanding payments and reduce aged debt through effective communication and follow‑up.
* Resolve customer queries promptly, working with branches and the sales team where credit approval is required.
* Monitor customer credit limits and highlight risks or concerns to the Credit Control Manager.
* Assist with cash receipt forecasting by providing accurate and timely collections updates.
* Use credit‑checking tools (e.g., CreditSafe) to assess creditworthiness and flag potential risks.
* Support the preparation of bad‑debt reporting and escalate overdue or disputed accounts as needed.




About You

* Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable.
* Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident using financial systems and Excel.
* Able to work collaboratively with finance, sales, and branch teams.
* Comfortable managing challenging conversations and negotiating payments.
