Summary


The Centre Operations and Events Co Ordinator will play a central role in the day-to-day running, development, and promotion of Park Farm Community Centre.

This role combines operational management, event coordination, community engagement, and light administrative support to ensure the centre operates efficiently, delivers high-quality events and activities, and maintains strong relationships with centre users, partners, staff, and the wider community.

The postholder will act as a key link between Directors, staff, volunteers, and centre users, supporting both strategic development and daily operational needs.



Key Responsibilities

Centre Operations & Management

Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the Community Centre

Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for centre users, hirers, partners, and visitors

Support the effective coordination of staff and volunteers, ensuring clear communication across the team

Liaise regularly with Directors regarding operational planning, performance, and development priorities

Support the implementation of centre policies including safeguarding, health & safety, and equality

Assist with rota planning and operational cover where required



Events & Community Engagement

Lead on the planning, coordination, and delivery of community events, activities, and engagement initiatives

Develop an annual events plan aligned with the centre’s aims and community needs

Work with local groups, organisations, and partners to develop collaborative programmes and activities
Monitor attendance, feedback, and community impact of events and activities

Ensure events are well organised, safe, inclusive, and financially viable

Promote participation from adults, children, and young people across the local community

Marketing & Promotion

Develop and implement a marketing and promotional plan for centre activities and events

Oversee social media updates, website content, and promotional materials

Ensure all marketing materials reflect the values and identity of Park Farm Community Centre

Identify opportunities to increase centre visibility, usage, and community reach

Work with Directors to support income generation through room hire, events, and partnerships



Administration & Systems Support

Provide light administrative support to ensure effective centre operations

Maintain accurate records including bookings, attendance, event data, and monitoring information

Support invoicing processes and liaise with relevant staff regarding payments and bookings

Assist with data collection for reporting, funding requirements, and evaluation

Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems where appropriate



Partnership & Team Liaison

Act as a key communication link between Directors, staff, volunteers, and external partners

Attend team meetings and contribute to planning and organisational development

Build and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders

Represent the Community Centre at meetings, events, and networking opportunities where required



General Duties

Be flexible and willing to undertake additional duties appropriate to the role and in line with the needs of the organisation

Uphold the values, mission, and policies of Park Farm Community Centre at all times

Support the continued development, sustainability, and positive reputation of the Community Centre



Essential Skills & Experience


Experience of planning, organising, and delivering events, including managing logistics, schedules, and resources

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with a wide range of people, including staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders

Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment

Competence in administration and IT systems, including email, booking systems, and basic record keeping

Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, in line with the needs of the centre and events programme

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure

Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required for the role
