About the Service
We are recruiting on behalf of a small, residential children’s home based in a detached property in Hadley, Telford.
The home provides care and accommodation for up to three young people, supported by a dedicated and experienced staff team working within a structured, child-focused environment.
This is a close-knit service where consistency, strong relationships, and high-quality day-to-day care are essential to helping young people feel safe, supported, and able to progress.
The Role
We are looking for a confident and motivated Team Leader to support the leadership team in delivering high standards of care across the home.
You will play a key role in leading shifts, supporting staff practice, and ensuring that the children receive consistent, safe, and high-quality support in line with care plans and regulatory standards.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will be actively involved in both staff supervision and direct care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and provide clear direction to the residential care team
Support the implementation of individual care plans for young people
Ensure high standards of safeguarding and child protection are maintained
Supervise, support, and motivate staff within the home
Work collaboratively with external professionals including social workers and therapists
Maintain accurate records relating to young people’s progress and incidents
Support care planning and contribute to multi-agency meetings
Promote a positive, stable, and nurturing environment for young people
Act as a role model for best practice in residential childcare
About You
NVQ Level 3 / Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Experience working within a children’s residential setting
Previous experience in a senior support or team leader role (preferred)
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Confident in leading shifts and supporting staff development
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, consistent, and resilient under pressure
Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
