About the Service
We are recruiting on behalf of a small 2-bed residential children’s home supporting children and young people aged 7–17 (on admission) with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a highly individualised service where each young person receives bespoke, consistent support in a stable and nurturing home environment.

The approach is relationship-based and trauma-informed, built around:

Respecting each child’s lived experience and building resilience
Healing through consistent, positive relationships
Supporting social learning and life skills development
The focus is on stabilising young people’s lives, supporting emotional recovery, and helping them develop the confidence and skills needed for their future.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to take full operational responsibility for this small, specialist home.

You will lead a compact staff team and ensure the home consistently delivers safe, high-quality, and emotionally attuned care.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to build strong relationships, maintain stability, and embed a therapeutic approach will directly shape outcomes for the young people.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the overall operation of a 2-bed residential children’s home
Ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality care delivery at all times
Lead, develop, and support a small residential staff team
Maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations and statutory requirements
Oversee highly individualised care planning and support delivery
Promote a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to care
Ensure safeguarding standards are consistently maintained
Manage staffing, rotas, and operational requirements effectively
Build strong relationships with external professionals and families
Drive continuous improvement and maintain high service standards

About You
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Proven experience as a Registered Manager or strong Deputy Manager ready to step up
Strong understanding of SEMH, safeguarding, and trauma-informed practice
Experience in small, therapeutic children’s homes (highly desirable)
Confident, reflective leader with strong emotional resilience
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to build stable, trusting relationships with young people and staff
Committed to child-centred, relationship-based care

Benefits
Competitive salary
Private healthcare (where applicable)
Contributory pension scheme
Ongoing training and development
Supportive leadership structure
Opportunity to lead a highly specialist, small-scale service

The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to lead a very small, specialist residential service where consistency, relationships, and individualised care are at the core of everything.

You’ll be responsible for shaping a stable and nurturing environment where young people can begin to rebuild trust, develop resilience, and move forward positively.
