Summary

Humanities Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026


These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience and build confidence across secondary school settings. This Humanities Teacher role is based across schools in Norfolk and the surrounding areas and is well suited to ECTs who want consistent classroom experience while teaching subjects such as History, Geography, RE, or a combination of Humanities disciplines.

Duties as Humanities Teacher (ECT):

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Humanities lessons in line with the curriculum
  • Teach one or more Humanities subjects depending on experience and school needs
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain high expectations
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress where required
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and support staff
  • Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement

Ideal Humanities Teacher (ECT):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
  • Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience
  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more Humanities disciplines
  • Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adaptable and open to learning within different school environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
