Summary

KS1 Teacher (ECT) – Full-time, long-term supply starting September 2026


These long-term supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who are looking to gain valuable experience and build confidence across different primary school settings. You will be working in schools across Norfolk and the surrounding areas, delivering consistent, high-quality teaching while developing your classroom practice in a supportive environment.

Duties as KS1 Teacher (ECT):

  • Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across the KS1 curriculum
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies aligned with school policies
  • Assess and record pupil progress in line with school expectations
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, mentors, and colleagues
  • Contribute positively to wider school life during the long-term placement

Ideal KS1 Teacher (ECT):

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to qualify as an ECT by September 2026
  • Early Career Teacher seeking long-term supply experience in Key Stage 1
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early childhood development
  • Confident, reflective, and eager to develop classroom practice
  • Good organisation and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Adaptable across different school environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
