Summary
THE ROLE
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Experienced Plant Engineer to take the lead on complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of heavy plant equipment. This role includes both field and workshop-based responsibilities and is key to ensuring service excellence for our customers. You’ll also mentor junior engineers and play a part in shaping our future workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform advanced diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on plant and construction machinery
Lead on-site servicing and breakdown response work
Support workshop operations and assist with parts coordination
Mentor junior engineers and apprentices
Conduct inspections in line with LOLER, PUWER, and HSE standards
Accurately complete job reports and documentation
Communicate clearly with customers on-site, offering professional support
Assist in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance work
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Plant Engineer or similar role
NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
Full UK driving licence
Strong communication and leadership skills
Must be based in or near Bristol.
