Product Compliance Assistant – Job Description
The Role
As a Product Compliance Assistant, you’ll support the compliance function across UK and EU markets, helping ensure products meet relevant safety legislation and standards.
This is a junior / entry‑level role, ideal for someone starting out or looking to build a long‑term career in product compliance.
You’ll work closely with suppliers, Buying and Product teams, gaining hands‑on experience with real products and real regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support product compliance across UK & EU markets
- Assist with identifying applicable legislation and standards (e.g. UKCA, CE, GPSR, EMC, LVD, RoHS, REACH)
- Help prepare and maintain technical documentation and Declarations of Conformity
- Review supplier documentation and test reports, flagging any gaps or issues
- Check product labelling, safety warnings and instructions for compliance
- Liaise with suppliers to request and monitor compliance documentation
- Work with Buying and Product teams to consider compliance early in development
- Support responses to compliance‑related queries from marketplaces or regulators
- Maintain accurate compliance records and support process improvements
About You
- Some experience or strong interest in product compliance, safety, quality or -similar
- Basic understanding of UK/EU product regulations or willingness to learn
- Exposure to technical files or supplier documentation is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
- Proactive, curious and keen to develop new skills
- Confident communicating with internal teams and suppliers
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks with guidance and support
