Summary

Role Responsibilities: Clinical Requirements: Expected to undertake one clinical session a month across the LCW services ensuring over a 12-month period UTC, visiting, face to face, community and triage services have been covered. Participate in the clinical on call rota. Expected to ensure they participate in EPRR training as part of the LCW on call team. Audit Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive audit policies and SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and internal objective. Ensure tools to audit clinical staff being used by the auditors are current and ratified as per local, regional and national guidance for each skill set. As per policy, to oversee clinical audits of new staff joining the organisation to ensure they are safe to continue working in LCW services. Ensure regular benchmarking of auditors occurs in line with guidance. Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings, risks, and recommendations for improvement that can be shared with the Clinical Leadership and Governance team and executive teams. Ensure clinical breach report is undertaken and timely audits as part of the PSIRF for incidents and complaints Performance Improvement: Responsibility for ensuring the LCW Clinical Performance and Conduct policy is used as the framework for managing concerns and feedback to clinicians. To have systems and process in place, working closely with the governance team to be able to analyse clinical data from audits to identify trends, variances, and recommended areas for improvement. Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement performance improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and efficiency. Monitor the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and adjust strategies as needed. To work closely with the clinical leadership team to ensure systems and processes are in place to provide feedback to clinicians. To provide feedback to clinicians directly as part of the LCW approach to managing clinician performance as per our clinical performance and conduct policy. Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring the organisational compliance requirements Educate staff on regulatory requirements and best practices in healthcare delivery regarding clinical audit where appropriate. To support in the preparation for inspection of audit by external bodies such as the CQC. Liaise with NHS England Professional standards team and other regulatory bodies in agreement with the Deputy Medical Director. Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of care and present at Quality Assurance Group for LCW services regarding audit findings and plans. Work closely with governance team and clinical leads to review incidents and complaints and suggest protocols and procedures to reduce errors and enhance patient safety. Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present regular reports on audit findings for Quality Assurance Groups, CQRGs, Quality, Performance and Workforce Committee and the LCW Board report. Facilitate communication between departments to ensure a coordinated approach to performance improvement including but not limited to business systems and clinical operational teams Provide training and support to staff on audit and quality improvement processes. Work with external stakeholders where needed to implement and deploy digital and operational improvements relating to audit and performance
