What skills and experience we're looking for
About the Role
• This is a non-class-based role, allowing you the time and space to focus on high-quality SEND leadership
• Some teaching or cover responsibility will be required to support pupils and colleagues
• You will take strategic and operational responsibility for SEND across the school
• You will oversee the daily running, development and impact of our Additional Resource Classrooms, ensuring provision is ambitious, well-led and meets pupils’ needs
• You will work closely with the Headteacher, senior leaders, staff, parents and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for children with SEND
We welcome applications from:
• Qualified SENCOs, or
• Teachers with the potential and desire to become a SENCO – full training and support towards the NASENCO qualification will be provided
We are looking for someone who:
• Is deeply committed to inclusion and high expectations for all pupils
• Has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies
• Can lead, support and inspire staff in delivering excellent SEND provision
• Is organised, reflective and solution-focused
• Believes that pupils with additional needs can thrive academically, socially and emotionally
