Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and resilient Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant to join an alternative provision based across primary and secondary campuses in Chesterfield (S41). This role involves supporting learners who face significant barriers to education, particularly those who struggle with behaviour and integrating into mainstream school settings. You will play a key role in providing both academic and emotional support within a structured, nurturing environment, helping students re-engage with learning and develop essential life and employability skills. This position is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
About the Role:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs. This is in an all through school from ages 4-16.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
- Support pupils' academic progress as well as their emotional wellbeing and personal development.
- As a Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant you will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans.
- Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies.
About You:
- Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs in a primary and secondary schools.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges.
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally.
- Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
- Must be willing to attend a pre meeting on Microsoft Teams.
