About the role
Source Supply are currently recruiting a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to work within a Chesterfield-based Alternative Provision, supporting young people aged 5 to 19 who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education.

As a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may present challenging behaviours and emotional dysregulation, providing consistent support to help them engage positively with learning.

This role requires an engaging, nurturing, proactive, adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience as a Sports Coach, Youth Worker, Youth Offending Worker, those with a Psychology degree, or individuals who have worked with children, young people, or adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN). If you have relevant transferable skills and are keen to transition into a school setting, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: This role requires a full driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance.

Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications, and training. All successful applicants will:
• Have experience working with children in a school or specialist setting
• Demonstrate a nurturing, patient, and consistent approach
• Provide referenceable experience within a school environment
• Be passionate about education and supporting young people to thrive
• Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
