Summary

Senior Data Analyst | Blackburn, UK (Hybrid with flexibility to work from home) | Full Time | £40,000 – £50,000 per year (depending on experience)

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data & Underwriting team in a supervisory capacity. This position is ideal for a professional passionate about front-end analytics, dashboards, and business insights, while also having a basic understanding of back-end data systems. You will have the opportunity to mentor others, strengthen the team’s analytical capabilities, and support the organisation’s financial performance objectives.

Requirements

Essential

• Strong Power BI, DAX, and SQL experience (5+ years) with a focus on front-end dashboards and reporting
• Experience in Python or R (1+ year) for analysis and modelling
• Familiarity with statistical analysis, forecasting, and data visualisation best practices
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Proactive, forward-thinking, and capable of translating data insights into strategic business decisions

Desirable

• Proficiency in M Language / Power Query
• Supervisory or team leadership experience with strong mentoring and communication skills

The Role

• Lead, mentor, and develop junior Data Analysts, fostering collaboration, learning, and analytical excellence
• Create, maintain, and optimise Power BI dashboards, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights
• Analyse dashboard data and suggest critical business changes aligned with strategic goals
• Support improvements in data collection, BI reporting workflows, and data governance standards
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical requirements and prioritise projects
• Oversee quality assurance of team outputs to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
• Work with leadership to plan workloads, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects efficiently
• Explore emerging technologies, including AI & ML, to enhance analytical capabilities (training available)
• Collaborate with data engineers to support ETL process improvements
