Summary


Site Directors will manage overall operational site delivery of planned and unplanned demand, flow, and discharge.

Maintains oversight of escalation of incidents effecting site safety and flow, being a point of escalation and communication cascade across clinical groups and with partner agencies including GM ICB &SCC including NWAS.

Delivers strategic leadership and input for forward planning on site developments and issues, including the safe management of sites in the context of place/locality.

Responsible for development of improvement plans for maximising flow and discharge.

Responsible for co-ordinating site level winter planning in conjunction with Clinical Groups and Corporate colleagues.

Manages site and discharge teams relating to the specific hospital site/sites.
• Responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the day-to-day management of the hospital site, ensuring safe and effective service delivery across all Clinical Groups.
• Maintains oversight of operational pressures, implementing escalation processes to support patient safety and service continuity.
• Leads and coordinates patient flow across the hospital, supporting Clinical Groups to ensure effective admission, transfer and discharge of emergency and elective patients.
• Works with clinical and operational teams to address capacity challenges, improve pathways and maintain safe bed utilisation.
• Acts as a key escalation point for operational issues affecting multiple Clinical Groups, including estates, digital systems, infection prevention and control, staffing and site safety concerns.
• Coordinates responses to major incidents, business continuity events and EPRR incidents to ensure an organised operational response.
• Works with external partners including social care, Integrated Care Boards, ambulance services and neighbouring trusts to support complex discharges and system-wide patient flow.
• Provides leadership for workforce management, financial oversight and service development within the site management function, using performance data to identify improvements and support quality, safety and operational performance.
