Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic, warm, and committed teachers who believe in the potential of every child. You will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (ECTs are very welcome to apply), good teaching and class management skills, strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and/or Early Years Framework, familiarity with the SEN Code of Practice, experience of teaching and managing a class (teaching practices count for ECTs), excellent communication and relationship-building skills, a commitment to equality and celebrating diversity, and a reflective, open approach to professional development.
What the school offers its staff
At SJSC, we believe staff should flourish just as much as our children. Here's what we offer:
Wellbeing — access to Health Assured's Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which provides a free and confidential 24/7 helpline, counselling services, legal advice, financial guidance, and access to the Wisdom wellbeing app for you and your immediate family.
Financial benefits — membership of the London Credit Mutual Union, a cycle to work scheme, and a tech scheme to help spread the cost of personal technology purchases.
Professional development — strong CPD opportunities, an outstanding ECT induction programme, and support to develop your individual talents and career aspirations.
Culture — a supportive, collegiate team in an outstanding, innovative school at the heart of a vibrant, diverse community.
Commitment to safeguarding
Candidates are advised that references will be taken up immediately after shortlisting and prior to interview. The post will be offered subject to the satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks. In line with KCSIE 2024 and safer recruitment practices, an online search will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with further guidance and may be asked to clarify their online presence. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as qualifications and reference checks.
