Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Limes College (Pupil Referral Unit) in Sutton require an Assistant SENCo to start as soon as possible

Permanent contract

Salary: Scale NJC 6 (£34,488 – £36,585 FTE)

Actual starting salary £27,385

33 hours per week, term time plus INSET days

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant SENCo to join our SEND Team.

This post will be assisting the SENCo with the coordination of the provision for students identified as having special educational needs (SEND), compiling evidence and advising parents of the process for statutory assessment, establishing, monitoring and reviewing SEND intervention and ensuring high standards of learning and achievements for all students.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and help shape practice and assessment within the College.

You will have:

• Minimum of GCSE Maths and English at grades A – C or equivalent;
• SALT Qualification (Speech and Language Therapy) and or equivalent;
• Experience of delivering speech and language sessions within a school environment;
• Experience of writing statutory assessment reports / SEND reports;
• To have or be willing to complete the ELKLAN qualification;
• Good communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, parents/carers and other professionals.
