ROLE: Shift Mechanical EngineerSHIFT: Day shift - 0600 - 1800, Night Shift 18:00-0600 Week 1 - 4 nights, 3 off Week 2 - 3 days 1 off 3 nights Week 3 - 3 off, 4 days Week 4 - 7 offLOCATION: Ellesmere Port

Role Responsibilities:
-Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete all required paperwork.
-Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring accurate documentation.
-Assist other team members as directed by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
-Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
-Proactively support energy‑reduction initiatives on site.
-Supervise visiting sub‑contractors, ensuring high standards and Health & Safety compliance.
-Adopt a flexible attitude to support additional properties when required.
-Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
-Work safely, diligently, and in line with company policies and procedures.
-Participate fully in training and appraisal activities.
-Undertake additional duties in line with capability as required.
Required Qualifications:
-City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical disciplines.
-Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault‑finding on a range of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, batteries, and lighting systems.
-Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
-Proactive approach with strong customer‑care focus.
-Good communication skills.
-Ability to diagnose, anticipate, and repair faults.
-Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly.
