SEN Learning Support Assistant | 1:1 | Year 1/2 – Carlisle
Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN school on a long-term basis.
This is a full-time role starting 04/05/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This role would suit a patient, supportive and resilient individual who is confident working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1/2 pupil with additional needs. The position requires someone who can build strong, consistent relationships and support engagement, learning, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support a Year 1/2 pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual needs
Encourage positive engagement, independence and confidence in learning
Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team
Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
What You’ll Bring
Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN setting
A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
Knowledge of primary education expectations within Year 1/2
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider support and teaching team
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Pay
£15.46 per hour
