Due to the continued growth of the Ashcourt West Yorkshire division and an increase in fleet size, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team in Leeds.
As a Transport Planner, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination and forward scheduling of vehicle movements, ensuring jobs are communicated clearly and delivered on time, with maximum efficiency.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you’ll be central to keeping our transport operation running efficiently, safely and compliantly - while delivering a great service to our customers.

Key responsibilities
Liaising with drivers, transport manager & office staff to ensure jobs and plans are communicated
Arrange day-to-day scheduling, routing, pricing & forward planning of the fleet for maximum efficiency and service
Ensuring any delays or issues are adequately communicated to customers
To manage lorry MOT’s & 6 weekly inspections
Assist & liaise, as required, with the transport manager in his duty of ensuring the servicing of the fleet is in line with current legislation
Ensuring H&S tasks for fleet and drivers are completed as required, as requested by your line manager
About you
Full UK Driving licence
Good understanding of local geographic region
Experience in transport planning or scheduling within the logistics or aggregates industry
Experience working in fast paced environments
Proven ability to problem-solve, work to deadlines and multitask
