About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Academic Support Worker to work with students in a college setting, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
You will support learners across a range of subjects, including those with additional learning needs (SEN), EHCPs, or barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group academic support to students
- Assist learners in developing study skills, organisation, and independence
- Support students in lessons and during independent study
- Adapt resources and materials to meet individual needs
- Work closely with lecturers, tutors, and the learning support team
- Track and monitor student progress and engagement
- Support students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties
About You
- Experience working with young people or adults in an education or support setting
- Strong academic background (A-levels or degree preferred)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach
- Ability to motivate and engage learners
Desirable:
- Experience in FE college or sixth form setting
- Knowledge of SEN / EHCP support
- Background in education, psychology, or youth work
