Summary

Job role: Support Worker – Residential Childcare

Location: Histon, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £14.50 per hour plus additional sleep in payments

Shift Pattern: Full-time hours, working shifts with occasional sleep ins - £62.00 per night.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting a dedicated and committed Support Worker to join a beautifully presented residential children’s home supporting children aged 6-17 years.

You’ll be supported by an experienced leadership team to provide consistent, trauma-informed care in a safe and nurturing environment. You would be working directly with the children to support their physical, emotional and social development whilst always ensuring their safety and wellbeing – this is at the heart of everything we do.

Support Worker - key responsibilities:

As a Support Worker, you’ll have a pivotal, front-line role working together with a team of Support Workers as well as working collaboratively with the Senior Support Workers and leadership team helping to create a safe, nurturing environment for the children.

Your role supports children to build positive relationships, develop independence skills and reach their full education potential. Along with the wider team, you’ll help ensure the home meets all legislation, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, Safeguarding and company policies. You’ll receive induction, mentoring and training to ensure you have the skills to perform your role to a high standard.

Support Worker key requirements:

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable groups which
  • may include volunteering or family support.
  • Willingness to complete a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare and undertake other training required to deliver exceptional care and support self-development.
  • Compassionate, respectful, calm and caring nature.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Reliable, organised and professional – able to demonstrate good team working.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Respectful and motivated to help children to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence
