Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Paediatric Research Nurse to join the LNWH Research & Innovation Department (R&I).
The post holder will support the delivery of paediatric clinical research portfolio, ensuring high standards of care for children, young people and their families. You will contribute to the safe and effective running of studies, including participant recruitment, consent/assent processes, and staff education.
You should be able to manage your own workload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, with strong organisational and communication skills.
The post is based at Northwick Park Hospital, part of London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. Although the post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the Trust.
The post holder will coordinate and deliver a portfolio of paediatric clinical research studies, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently and in accordance with study protocols, ICH-GCP and research governance standards. They will be responsible for identifying, screening and recruiting suitable participants, managing their ongoing care within studies, and ensuring a high-quality, patient-centred research experience.
The role involves leading the informed consent process, providing clear and compassionate information to patients and families, and acting as their advocate throughout the research pathway. The post holder will manage their own caseload, undertake study-specific clinical procedures, and ensure accurate data collection, documentation and reporting, including adverse events, in line with regulatory and sponsor requirements.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, investigators, sponsors and the NIHR Research Delivery Network, the post holder will support study set-up, delivery and performance targets. They will maintain study documentation and systems to ensure audit readiness, contribute to feasibility and monitoring activities, and support the development of a positive research culture through education, collaboration and patient engagement.
