Summary
The post holder will provide a high standard of care for women and their families who attend the unit.
The post holder will be part of the early pregnancy and gynaecology specialised team working in early pregnancy unit.
The post is one of continuing development.
Working closely with the Doctors and the existing team, the post holder will ensure the delivery of evidence-based care throughout the unit. With an innovative approach to nursing, the post holder will participate in developing and implementing service development projects when necessary.
The post holder will have at day –to-day workload, assisting colleagues as required, ensuring staff and resources allocated to the area or modality are managed effectively.
They will promote patient advocacy and communicate effectively with other health care professionals together with outside agencies regarding patient care and progress
1.To work within the Early Pregnancy Unit /Emergency Gynaecology Unit delivering high quality care and support to women
2. To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of direct patient care with supervision from senior staff. Telephone consultation and triage.
3. To be competent venepuncture and cannulation
4. To support the Nurses to monitor the safety and quality of care of patients.
5. To manage a group of patients and assign and delegate tasks and responsibility as appropriate.
6. To ensure the compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirement for delegated Healthcare Assistants.
7. To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients’ feedback to maintain and improve patient care.
8. To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
