Summary
Job Overview:
Proactive and effective Business Manager/PA support is to enable the success of the Corporate Accounts BU leadership, which is the primary purpose of this role.
The Business Manager/PA will work closely with the sector Managing Director (MD) to provide high level support, allowing them to focus on delivering their core strategic direction which enables them to advance on the business initiatives and goals. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
The Business Manager/PA will assist the MD with tasks such as scheduling, reviewing, prioritising as well as act as a strategic partner
Key Responsibilities:
PA to Corporate Accounts Managing Director
-Executive Support; Provide proactive PA support to the MD, including diary management, scheduling, and meeting coordination. Manage inbox communications, prioritising issues and ensuring timely responses.
-Communication & Stakeholder Liaison; Act as the primary gatekeeper, liaison and point of contact for the MD with Mitie executives, clients, partners, and suppliers
-Administrative & Meeting Governance; provide high-level administrative support including preparation of agendas, briefings, decision papers and pre‑read packs.
-Travel & Logistics; Arrange travel, site visits, accommodation and itineraries for MD, Coordinate event logistics, supplier meetings and operational site tours for broader sector SLT.
-Continuous Improvement; Supports the MD by seeking out opportunity for continuous improvement in process and technology/digital adoption.
-Critical Friend: Support the development of the MD acting as their confidant, trusted advisor, and sounding board.
Business Management
-Developing Goals and Strategies: Setting and supporting business management goals and designing strategies to achieve them for the MD and sector SLT
-Financial & Commercial Support; Manages sector change controls and budget monitoring
-Governance support: Provide high‑quality organisational, governance and administrative support to the FM/Estates leadership team
-Reporting & Data analysis; Coordinate senior‑level reporting, ensuring the production of accurate, well‑structured business papers, KPIs and audit‑ready documentation
-Project Management: Coordinates activity, chases actions from key stakeholders and ensures timely delivery of projects
-Recruitment Management: Supports effective recruitment across the sector and ensures timely end-to-end onboarding
-Customer and Partner Relations: Maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, supplier, and clients
-Compliance and Legal Adherence: Ensuring the sector adheres to legal rules and guidelines
-Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues, anticipating needs, and proposing solutions proactively, using initiative and good judgement
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
-C-Suite Experience/Qualification
-Robust personal organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, spin plates, and achieve tight deadlines which from time-to-time means dealing confidently with ambiguity and always remaining resilient and calm
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment - with internally and externally facing engagement
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications and able to adopt emerging technology at pace
-High level interpersonal skills
-Exceptional communication skills
-Strong project management, organisational, and problem-solving skills
-Ability to influence both internal and external senior stakeholders, establish and strengthen relationships at all levels, building connections and communicates effectively, especially within a complex matrix organisation
-Proactive and adaptable, able to anticipate and respond to changing business and client needs/priorities with calmness
-Ability to travel within the United Kingdom and possesses a clean driving licence.
